Especially when my work around involves closing down mimiLive and opening BlackMagic Media Express until both devices have a signal to record and then closing that and opening mimiLive again and crossing my fingers that mimoLive will see them both (sometimes I have to repeat this several times and stuff around with Desktop Video Setup at the same time). When it reverts to SDI during a broadcast it's a very very big problem to have to solve immediately. It's wasted so much time when time is short for me trying multiple HDMI signals into it and leads to figure what is going wrong b/c I forgot these devices can be flaky. I couldn't figure out what had happened (i'd forgotten how temperamental the driver for miniStudio is b/c I hadn't used for a couple of years).Ĭan BMD please get to the bottom of this and if necessary put a firmware or driver software option to lock to HDMI or SDI until it is changed through the Desktop Video Setup app. Usually once they are finally set to HDMI and I'm seeing video through both the devices they stay connected to HDMI but recently in a live video context I was panning the camera and hadn't taped the lead into place with camera tape to make sure it didn't come loose (which I used to do when I was using them more regularly) and it dropped the signal as soon as I reconnected the lead. At one point the flimsy miniHDMI connection to my Nikon dropped the signal and straight away the miniRecorder went back to SDI input setting, although it took me quite a while to realise that's what has happened. I was just setting up for a two miniRecorder input in my workshop and I was consistently having to mess around in Desktop Video Setup to get it to lock to HDMI. I guess that's nice if you are using pro gear with SDI out, but it can take many attempts to reset before it actually locks to HDMI. ![]() ![]() I'm using two miniRecorders to input to various apps like mimoLive and Vuo on macOS and there's persistently been this problem when using the HDMI inputs that they tend to default to the SDI input.
